"Judging by announcements from Delta company, the Balkans and former Yugoslav countries could soon have a regional trade and food giant," the daily reported.
Although it is not known when and how the two companies would be joined, together they would make the strongest company in Southeast Europe and further, the daily reported.
Delta has more than 400 retail shops in Serbia which make up four chains of stores, while Agrokor's retail chains Konzum, Konzum maksi and Superkonzum are leaders on the Croatian market, with 570 shops across Croatia, the daily said.
The two companies also own agribusinesses and food-processing plants.
