Earlier this morning, Mesic and Sanader laid wreaths for all Croatian soldiers killed in the war at the town cemetery.
Wreaths were also laid by Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks and leaders of the Social Liberal Party (HSLS), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), numerous associations, and representatives of Sibenik-Knin and Split-Dalmatia counties.
The celebration of this great holiday and anniversary started in the early morning hours with the Navy brass band playing and marching through the town, decorated with Croatian flags.
A large number of people from all over Croatia, including Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic, gathered in Knin this year to pay tribute to those killed in the war.
