The 53rd festival in the northern Croatian coastal city ended on Saturday evening by an award-giving ceremony at which Nuic, born in Sarajevo in 1977, also won the award for the best director,
According to the assessment of the audience, the best film shown this year in Pula's landmark Arena is "Sto je Muskarac Bez Brkova" ("What is a Man without a Moustache?") by Hrvoje Ribar and it, thus, won Golden Gate of Pula.
The Croatian Film Critics Association decided that the award 'Oktavijan" goes to "Put Lubenica" (The Melon Route") by Branko Schmidt.
According to media comments, the Pula Festival, the oldest film festival in the country, seems to have recaptured its former splendour, with 25,000 visitors having attended this year's event. From 15 to 22 July the audience could watch 51 films shown in various festival categories.
