SARAJEVO, July 11 (Hina) - The State Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday sentenced Bosnian Serb Boban Simsic to five years' imprisonment for war crimes committed in the Visegrad area in 1992.

The panel of judges decided it had been proved that as a member of Serb paramilitary troops, Simsic had taken part in the abduction of at least three Muslim men whose fate was unknown.

Judge Dragomir Vukoja said, however, that the prosecution had failed to prove charges of attacks on several villages and the raping of captured Muslim women.

Both the prosecution and the defence announced they would appeal the judgment.
