ZAGREB, June 29 (Hina) - The head of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Croatia, Ambassador Jorge Fuentes, on Thursday presented to Croatian President Stjepan Mesic his Mission's latest report
covering the period of the last five years, the president's office said in a statement.
ZAGREB, June 29 (Hina) - The head of the Organisation for Security
and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Croatia, Ambassador Jorge Fuentes,
on Thursday presented to Croatian President Stjepan Mesic his Mission's latest
report covering the period of the last five years, the president's office said
in a statement. The report, which according to Fuentes is very
balanced and detailed, underlines progress made in certain areas, such as
public administration, judiciary, the status of minorities and human rights.
The report also suggests what is yet to be done so that Croatia would achieve
European standards.
According to the statement, the head of the OSCE Mission informed Mesic
of the organisation's plans for a gradual reduction of the Mission. Fuentes
said the mission would wrap up its work in Croatia over the next year and a
half.
Mesic underlined the importance of the OSCE assistance to the
implementation of reforms in Croatia.
