ZAGREB, June 26 (Hina) - The Croatian Standards Institute and the
International Organisation for Standardisation held a seminar on the new
international standard ISO 22000 for food quality control and standardisation
in Zagreb on Monday. The standard has been accepted as a European
and Croatian standard and is recommended for use by Croatian manufacturers, it
was said at the seminar. The standard ISO 22000 defines criteria for the
management of food safety.
Assistant Agriculture Minister Mate Brstilo, who addressed the seminar,
pointed to the need of adopting a national food safety strategy, adding that a
veterinary law was expected to be adopted by the end of the year.
