PRISTINA, June 12 (Hina) - UN chief negotiator for Kosovo's
status, former Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari, said on Sunday that the
statement by Kosovo Prime Minister Agim Qeku, who asked the Kosovo Parliament
to declare independence, was hasty. Ahtisaari told a news conference
in Pristina that Qeku's statement, cited by Kosovo media, was unnecessary,
adding that unilateral decisions could harm the ongoing negotiating process.
The Finnish diplomat said the the negotiating parties were expected to
present their standpoints about Kosovo's future by the end of July, adding that
