ZAGREB, May 19 (Hina) - Hungarian Ambassador to Croatia Laszlo
Mohai told Hungarian radio Kossuth on Friday that houses owned by Hungarians on
the central Adriatic island of Vir envisaged for demolition did not have the
necessary permits. "As in Hungary, if you want to build something
you must have all the necessary permits," said Mohai.
He added that neither the houses built before a 2004 law declaring a
protected strip of land within 70 metres from the sea nor the houses built
after the law was adopted had the necessary permits.
As for houses envisaged for demolition, Mohai said they met both
criteria, namely they were built after 2004 and are located in said protected
strip.
