On Sunday, Mesic held talks with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili about Croatia's reform experience on the path to European associations, meeting criteria for NATO membership, bilateral cooperation and regional issues.
During the visit, the two countries signed two agreements - a cooperation agreement between the Croatian and Georgian foreign affairs ministries and an agreement regulating cooperation in European integration processes.
These were the first bilateral agreements the two countries signed after they established diplomatic relations in 1993.
President Mesic, who is the first Croatian president to have visited Georgia, expressed satisfaction with the signed agreements which he described as the first steps in establishing a legal framework for the furtherance of bilateral cooperation.
Mesic also held talks with the Georgian Parliament Speaker, Nino Burjanadze.
The Croatian delegation to the former Soviet republic Assistant Foreign Minister Ivica Tomic, Assistant Economy Minister Slobodan Mihac, andthe vice president of the Croatian Chamber of the Economy in charge of international cooperation, Dunja Konjevod.
