People who are or used to be members of political parties will no longer be able to sit in the commission and there will be mechanisms for checking any possible conflict of interest, Kosor said after touring the local food maker Podravka.
Stronger mechanisms will enable "in-depth" examinations of office-holders, she said, adding that penalties for conflict of interest law violations will become more stringent.
The presidency of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) met on Tuesday evening to discuss a new law on conflict of interest prevention that would be stricter than the present one.
Kosor said today that the new legislation would first be discussed with other partners in the governing coalition.
