The law refers to the period between 6 April 1941 to the present day.
Deputies of the ruling coalition voted for the law, the Socialist Party of Serbia was against it and the Serb Radical Party did not vote.
The law is aimed at righting historical wrongs and it refers to former political prisoners who resided in the territory of today's Serbia.
The request for rehabilitation can be submitted by everyone and there is no statute of limitation. The Belgrade District Court is competent for decisions on rehabilitation.
