THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, April 6 (Hina) - The Chief Prosecutor of theInternational Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY),Carla del Ponte, has assigned her spokeswoman Florence Hartmann toanother post, advisor to the ICTY Chief
Prosecutor Anton Nikiforovtold a press conference Hina on the phone on Wednesday.
THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, April 6 (Hina) - The Chief Prosecutor of the
International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Carla del
Ponte, has assigned her spokeswoman Florence Hartmann to another post, advisor
to the ICTY Chief Prosecutor Anton Nikiforov told a press conference Hina on
the phone on Wednesday. Nikiforov told the news conference that
following del Ponte's decision, Hartmann would be working on special projects,
declining however to speak of those projects in detail. He referred to the
principles of the Office of ICTY Prosecutor not to go public with internal
appointments.
Asked why Hartmann had not attended today's press briefing, Nikiforov
said del Ponte had asked her not to speak publicly about her new position.
Del Ponte appointed Hartmann her spokeswoman in October 2000, a year
after del Ponte stepped into the Office of the Chief Prosecutor.
