ZAGREB/THE HAGUE, April 2 (Hina) - The first status conference in thetrial of Croatian General Ante Gotovina, the sentence hearing forCroatian Defence Council commander Ivica Rajic, and the continuationof the trials to the Vukovar
Tree and Milan Martic will be held nextweek, the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague reported.
ZAGREB/THE HAGUE, April 2 (Hina) - The first status conference in
the trial of Croatian General Ante Gotovina, the sentence hearing for Croatian
Defence Council commander Ivica Rajic, and the continuation of the trials to
the Vukovar Tree and Milan Martic will be held next week, the UN war crimes
tribunal in The Hague reported. Closing arguments in the trial of
Naser Oric, Srebrenica war time commander, will start on Monday.
The status conference for Gotovina, who is charged with war crimes
committed during and after the 1995 Operation Storm, is scheduled for Friday, 7
April.
According to ICTY regulations, the status conference is held every 120
days if there are no other hearings in the proceedings. The proceedings against
Gotovina started on 12 December 2005 by his initial appearance when he pleaded
not guilty to all counts of the indictment.
