The ambassador said that the purpose of this meeting was to strengthen the relations between Dalmatia and France, adding that the Alliance-Francaise, with offices in downtown Split, also plays a certain role in that, the Split archdiocese reported on its web site.
The talks between the dignitary and the diplomat also focused on Croatia's European Union membership bid.
The French ambassador said it was not only Croatia that needed the European Union, but that the Union needed Croatia as well.
"The interest is common," Pasquier said.
They also discussed the relations between Croatia and its neighbouring countries and the situation in France.
