Roncevic and his associates met Portuguese Defence Minister Nuno Severiano Teixeira, who expressed satisfaction with Croatia's achievements in defence reform and hope that the country would soon join NATO and the EU.
The two ministers said they would soon sign an agreement on cooperation in the defence sector.
They also discussed security in Europe, agreeing that there could be no security in Europe without every European country being secure.
The Portuguese minister said that during Portugal's presidency of the EU, the country would advocate continuation of EU operations and missions, development of both military and civil capacities of the EU, and development of a strategic partnership with other international factors, notably Africa and the Mediterranean region.
The Croatian delegation also met with Allied Commander Joint Command Lisbon, Vice-Admiral John Stufflebeem, who is also Commander of the US Navy Sixth Fleet, Deputy Commander Naval Forces Europe, and NATO Strike and Support Forces Commander.
