"Croatia and Macedonia primarily share joint Euro-Atlantic integration interest, namely the wish to fully jointhe European Union and NATO, but they also share aspiration towards permanent peace and stability and solving of all outstanding issues in Southeast Europe," Grabar Kitarovic told the press.
Macedonia, Croatia and Albania are members of the US-Adriatic Charter, an initiative aimed at cooperation between the three countries so as to meet conditions for joining NATO. The three countries expect to be invited to NATO in 2008.
Croatia, Macedonia and Albania received encouraging messages at the NATO summit in Riga and even more encouraging messages in Tirana on 10 June at a meeting of the three countries' prime ministers with US President George W. Bush, Milososki said.
Grabar Kitarovic told a news conference after her talks with the Macedonian minister that the two countries' experts on Monday harmonised the text of an agreement on the protection of the Croatian minority in Macedonia and the Macedonian minority in Croatia and expect that the document would be signed soon.
The two ministers expressed satisfaction with the growth of the Croatia-Macedonia economic cooperation and trade.
Milososki expressed support to the election of Hido Biscevic of Croatia as secretary general of the Council for Regional Cooperation, with headquarters in Sarajevo, and said that Macedonia would host a meeting of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council at the end of this month. The meeting in Ohrid will also be attended by Croatian minister Grabar Kitarovic.
