The report, based on data supplied by 24 AEA members on missing items of baggage and passengers enplaned, also showed that 81,780,644 passengers had boarded AEA flights in said period.
By comparison, in the first quarter of 2006 the AEA members enplaned 77,358,040 passengers and registered 15 missing items of baggage per 1,000 passengers.
Another indicator of service quality was flight regularity.
According to figures provided by 28 AEA carriers, they performed 913,127 flights in total, with on-time arrivals on short and medium-haul flights accounting for 79.3 per cent and on-time departures 81.3 per cent. Of 63,049 long-haul flights performed, 66.6 per cent landed on time and 67.8 per cent departed on time.
AEA member Croatia Airlines enplaned 258,255 passengers and registered 11.6 missing items of baggage per 1,000 passengers, ranking 11th among the 24 member airlines.
The Croatian national carrier performed 4,679 short and medium-haul flights, of which 86.6 per cent landed on time and 90.1 departed on time, securing fourth place among the 28 members which supplied data.
