"I promise Croatia's full engagement," Simunovic told a news conference at which he spoke with Bosnian Foreign Minister Sven Alkalaj, whose country is the outgoing chair of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative.
Simunovic and Alkalaj said that the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, which along with Croatia and Bosnia gathers six more countries, was expected to get its permanent secretariat, to be based in Ancona, Italy.
Participants in the Sarajevo meeting agreed that their future cooperation should focus on environmental protection, road construction, tourism and protection of cultural heritage.
Simunovic said that Croatia was very much interested in closely cooperating with the Mediterranean countries within the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative and that this was one of its priorities, right after admission to the EU and NATO.
