On Monday, Grabar-Kitarovic visited Beijing Foreign Studies University where she met teachers and students of the Croatian language. She said she was pleased with the fact that a Croatian language department existed in China and that there was great interest among Chinese students to study Croatian.
Grabar-Kitarovic and her hosts expressed great expectations of the cooperation between the MVPEI Diplomatic Academy and the China Foreign Affairs University. Particularly highlighted was China's decision to award more scholarships to Croatian candidates for studies at Chinese colleges as part of bilateral cooperation in education.
The Croatian minister also delivered a talk, in which she focused on the 15 years of fruitful cooperation between China and Croatia, Croatia's progress to membership of the European Union and NATO, and the situation in Southeast Europe.
On Monday evening, Grabar-Kitarovic was scheduled to open Croatian Film Week, during which six recent and classic Croatian films will be presented to audiences in Beijing. She would also attend a reception marking the 15th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Croatia.
