The Croatian president and the Montenegrin PM said bilateral relations had set a model for successful cooperation in the region.
They said the fact that the Croatian president had recently been declared an honorary citizen of the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica corroborated that statement.
According to a press release issued by the Office of President Mesic, the two officials also discussed their countries' efforts to join Euro-Atlantic integration processes, bilateral economic cooperation and the situation in the region.
Mesic and Sturanovic agreed that the best solution for Kosovo would be direct negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina with an active role of the international community.
They also agreed that it was in the interest of the region that Serbia get a democratic government.
