The purpose of this bus tour is to bring the EU closer to the average citizen, particularly young people.
On this occasion an adviser of the European Commission's Delegation to Croatia, David Hudson, told a news conference in Osijek's main square that people tended to treat the process of Croatia's accession to the European Union as something which only politicians in Zagreb and Brussels should deal with. That's why we have opted for the direct communication with people in places where do not visit often, he added.
Osijek-Baranja County Deputy Prefect, Danijel Srb, said the 76 percent of the county's exports went on the EU market and the county was particularly interested in Croatia's EU full membership as soon as possible.
The EU Bus will also tour Vukovar, Slavonski Brod, Split, Zadar, Rijeka and Pula.
