ZAGREB, May 4 (Hina) - The Federation of Independent Trade Unions
of Croatia (SSSH) has joined the the campaign by the European Trade Union
Confederation (ETUC) which organised the signing of a petition for high-quality
public services, accessible to all, it was said at today's news conference of
the SSSH. The aim is to gather one million signatures by the end of
May which will then be forwarded to the European Commission together with the
ETUC request to impose a moratorium on further liberalisation of public
services in Europe.
The petition underlines that liberalisation has reduced the
accessibility and sometimes the quality of public services, and has not
benefited consumers.
