On Thursday, DT trade unions will stage a strike in 13 countries insisting on the cancellation of the Deutsche Telekom management's plans to close 32,000 jobs until 2011 and to transfer 50,000 workers in external companies with poorer conditions through the process of outsourcing. Under the plan, newly-employed workers will receive 40 per cent lower salaries and working hours per week will be extended by eight hours for everybody.
HST chairman Josip Pupic told a news conference in Zagreb on Wednesday that workers in the Croatian T-HT Group would be on strike from 1155 hrs to 1215 hrs on Thursday out of sympathy with their colleagues in other countries.
