DUBROVNIK, April 28 (Hina) - A five-day meeting of national coordinators of UNESCO's Southeastern Mediterranean Environmental Project (SEMEP) started in the southern Croatian Adriatic resort town of Dubrovnik on Saturday.
DUBROVNIK, April 28 (Hina) - A five-day meeting of national coordinators of UNESCO's Southeastern Mediterranean Environmental Project (SEMEP) started in the southern Croatian Adriatic resort town of Dubrovnik on Saturday.

The meeting was also being attended by Croatian government officials, the secretaries-general of the Croatian and German commissions for UNESCO, and the head of the UNESCO Department for Education in Science and Technology, Orlando Hall Rose.

The SEMEP promotes environmental education and discussion of common environment-related problems in the Mediterranean. Sixteen countries are involved in the project, which was launched by the Greek Ministry of Education in 1994.

Croatian schools have been actively implementing the project since 1996.
