CARDIFF, April 18 (Hina) - Poland and Ukraine have been chosen to
co-host the 2012 European Football Championships, the UEFA Executive Board
decided at a meeting in Cardiff on Wednesday. The other candidates
were Italy, and Croatia and Hungary, which also presented a joint bid.
Poland and Ukraine won the bid to host the tournament already in the
first round of vote after receiving the votes of eight out of 12 members of the
UEFA Executive Board. Italy won four votes while the Croatia and Hungary bid
got none.
