The Eurotransplant International Foundation is responsible for the mediation and allocation of organ donation procedures in several European countries, including Croatia. Eurotransplant includes three types of donors: cadaveric donors, non-heart beating cadaveric donors, living donors.
The patient who underwent the surgery is a 7-year-old boy from Pazin.
He has been treating at the Zagreb clinical hospital called Rebro for 18 months. The donated kidney was transferred from Graz, the hospital reported today.
