The topic of the forum will be "South East Europe as an energy bridge between the Russian Federation, the Mediterranean, the Caspian and Middle Eastern Areas and the European Union".
Apart from ministers in charge of energy from SEECP countries, the forum will gather ministers from energy exporters and countries important for energy transit, and representatives of the largest international energy companies and various finance and science institutions.
The forum will address three topics - energy security in Europe, SEECP countries' energy projects, and possibilities of investing in the energy industry.
A ministerial declaration on the Pan-European Oil Pipeline is expected to be signed by representatives of Croatia, Italy, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia, and the European Commissioner on Energy.
The PEOP project envisages the transport of oil from the Caspian and Ural regions to European markets. The 1,856 km route would cross Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Italy, of which 435 km through Croatia. The first stop on the route is the Romanian port of Costanza on the Black Sea, while the final one is Italy's Trieste on the Adriatic.
