UN civilian administrator Joachim Ruecker and Kosovo premier Agim Ceku visited a Roma settlement in the south of Mitrovica where 52 Roma families had been allocated new apartments.
During talks with Roma representatives, Ceku and Ruecker said that the plan for Kosovo's status, proposed by UN special envoy Martti Ahtisaari, fully guaranteed the rights of all minority communities in Kosovo.
Ruecker said that there would be no tolerance for any violence once the UN Security Council announced a decision on Kosovo's status.
Ceku called on all displaced persons to return to Kosovo, saying that the minority communities should not be afraid of Kosovo's independence.
