ZAGREB, March 26 (Hina) - An activist of the Centre for Peace Studies nongovernmental organisation on Monday said that the day before yesterday unknown vandals wrote insulting graffiti on the entrance to the NGO's office in Nazorova Street in Zagreb.

Sandra Bencic said that on Saturday evening another activist noticed that the wall of the entrance to the office was sprayed with insulting graffiti and chauvinistic messages. In addition, material about Ustasha commander Jure Francetic was put in the NGO's mailbox.

Bencic believes the reasons for the attack lie in the fact that the centre has been tackling the issue of secret services, possibilities for holding a referendum on Croatia's entry into NATO and problems of the protection ethnic and sexual minorities.

The police confirmed that they had been informed about the graffiti and that a crime expert had conducted an on-the-scene investigation.
