The amendments, which have been adjusted to EU standards, oblige air carriers to send relevant information on passengers to the border police and they also specify personal information that may be gathered in border police databases.
The amendments also provide for the introduction of a national information system for border management.
The amendments were adopted by deputies of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the Party of Rights (HSP), the only parties that took part in the debate.
Earlier in the day, all parliamentary parties supported a report on mine clearance operations in 2006, but expressed their displeasure with the pace of mine clearance operations.
