ZAGREB, March 21 (Hina) - The state secretary for political issues
at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Hido
Biscevic, on Wednesday received Israeli Ambassador Shmuel Meirom, who informed
him of his government's positions on the formation of the new Palestinian
Self-Government, the Croatian ministry said in a statement. The two
sides voiced concern about the fact that the platform of the Fatah-Hamas
coalition government does not fully acknowledge the principles of the peace
process adopted so far, including Israel's right to existence.
Biscevic reiterated Croatia's support to efforts to reach a solution to
the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the principle of the existence of two
states -- Israel and Palestine -- and underlined that Croatia advocated a
political solution, renewing the peace process, refraining from violence, and
stopping the radicalising of political and social relations.
