ZAGREB, Feb 28 (Hina) - The Croatian Foreign Ministry state secretary for political affairs, Hido Biscevic, met the state secretary at the Montenegrin Foreign Ministry, Vinko Radulovic, for political consultations in Zagreb on Tuesday.

Those were the first official consultations between the two countries' foreign ministries since Montenegro gained independence last year and the recent official visit by Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader to Montenegro.

The meeting reaffirmed a firm commitment to developing all round good neighbourly relations in view of overcoming the legacy of the recent past, the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said in a statement on Wednesday.

Biscevic and Radulovic discussed the realisation of agreements from the meeting of the two prime ministers, preparations for a lasting solution to border issues, the launching of negotiations on a new agreement on the rights and protection of national minorities, and cooperation in transport, tourism and culture.

The two officials also considered the current situation in Southeast Europe, notably the process of defining the final status of Kosovo.
