Representatives of parliamentary parties in Serbia held consultations in the office of Serbia's President Boris Tadic on Monday and advocated that Tadic travel to Vienna on 13 February and say that Serbia cannot respond to Ahtisaaari's proposal until Serbia's parliament voices its opinion about it, which means that Serbia postpones indefinitely its participation in negotiations on Kosovo's status.
Representatives of all parliamentary parties attended the consultations in Tadic's office.
Serbia's new parliament can be constituted only after new elections at six polling stations, scheduled for 11 February and after the State election Commission confirms the final results of the January elections.
Pristina, however, responded to Ahtisaari's invitation to take part in the February 13 meeting in Vienna, stressing that it expected to be able to present its remarks on his proposal for Kosovo's final status.
Spokesman for Kosovo's negotiating team Skender Hyseni said today that Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu responded to Ahtisaari's invitation and that Pristina prepared positions for each part of the proposal.
