"I expect the Slovene government to positively respond to our initiative," Sanader said at the start of the government session on Thursday.
Stressing that the two countries have not been able to agree on the sea border for the past 17 years, Sanader called on the Slovene government to close this issue before an international judicial institution where both parties would be able to present their arguments.
Sanader stressed that Croatia will not buy friendship or good-neighbourly relations with its territory.
He added he particularly appreciated the fact that the Slovene prime minister refrained from taking a position on the issue and did not back some Slovene politicians' positions that were unacceptable to Croatia.
