The agreement was signed by the president of the Croatian Chamber of the Economy, Nadan Vidosevic, and the president of the Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce, Vladimir Vukmirovic. Also present at the signing were the two countries' prime minister Ivo Sanader and Zeljko Sturanovic.
Croatian PM Sanader, who is on an official visit to Montenegro, called on Montenegrin and Croatian business people to promote cooperation and on Montenegrin companies to take part in investment projects in Croatia.
Montenegrin PM Sturanovic said he and Sanader agreed that the two governments would create conditions for connecting the Croatian and Montenegrin economies, adding that the fact that both Croatia and Montenegro and other countries of the region had signed the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) would facilitate this process.
Vukmirovic, who chaired the Economic Forum of the Croatian and Montenegrin Business People, said that the two countries' economic cooperation was improving, adding that Croatia-Montenegro trade in 2006 amounted to 60 million euros or three times more than in 2005
The Economic Forum in Podgorica was attended by over 100 business people from Croatia and Montenegro.
