VINKOVCI, May 9 (Hina) - Deputy Prime Minister Slobodan Uzelac, the highest ranking ethnic Serb in the Croatian government, on Friday expressed satisfaction with the ongoing reconstruction of the Serb Orthodox Church in the eastern town of Vinkovci.
VINKOVCI, May 9 (Hina) - Deputy Prime Minister Slobodan Uzelac, the highest ranking ethnic Serb in the Croatian government, on Friday expressed satisfaction with the ongoing reconstruction of the Serb Orthodox Church in the eastern town of Vinkovci.

During the Homeland Defence War, the old church of the Feast of Pentecost, built in 1793, was destroyed.

The new one is being constructed with the financial support from the government.

The parish priest Predrag Azap told Uzelac during his visit to Vinkovci that the Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure had allocated HRK 2.8 million kuna for the church rebuilding.

An additional HRK 2 million is necessary for the completion of the reconstruction.
