Building permits to investors to be issued within 45 days
ZAGREB, June 5 (Hina) - Please note that the third paragraph of the news item headlined "Building permits to investors to be issued within 45 days" should read correctly:"Sabor sent to second reading amendments the law on the service in the military making it possible for active soldiers to be deployed in peace missions before stepping into noncommissioned office. Amendments also raise some upper age limits for certain services which will encourage personnel to apply for additional training and education."

"The Croatian Parliament (Sabor) on Friday adopted legislation regulating building licences for investors which says that permits for building will have to be issued within 45 days to investors.
The law, moved by the government within its anti-recession measures, also downsizes the number of papers one needs to start their investment project.
Sabor sent to second reading amendments to the law on the service in the military making it possible for active soldiers to be deployed in peace missions before stepping into noncommissioned office. Amendments also raise some upper age limits for certain services which will encourage personnel to apply for additional training and education.
MPs adjusted the national legislation on air traffic to European Union standards.
Sabor ratified several international conventions, including the one on cluster ammunition.
MPs endorsed reports submitted by the ombudspersons for children, gender equality and disabled people as well as on the implementation of the Croatian national traffic safety programme in 2008.
The road safety report reads that in the situation regarding road safety in Croatia was not satisfactory.
Last year, there were 53,496 road accidents, or 12.3 percent down from 2007. However, the number of deaths in road accidents rose by 45 to 664.
