According to incomplete and provisional results, the coastal city of Sibenik will get a new mayor, Ante Zupanovic of the coalition of the Social Democratic Party and Croatian People's Party (SDP-HNS), who took the lead with 51.18 percent against the current mayoress Neda Klaric of the Croatian Demcoratic Union (HDZ) with 47.58 percent of votes according to returns from 74 out of a total of 79 polling stations.
On Sunday evening, Klaric congratulated her successor Zupanovic.
In the third round of voting for the mayor of the municipality of Udbina, central Croatia, the incomplete and provisional results shows that Ivan Pesut of HDZ mustered 665 votes while his rival Slobodan Bjelobaba of the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) won 624 votes.
In the second round of voting both Pesut and Bjelobaba won 579 votes.
In the municipality of Donji Lapac, also central Croatia, Dusan Sijan of SDP took the lead in the race against the current head of the municipality Ilija Obradovic of SDSS.
In the northern municipality of Zlatar-Bistrica, Zarko Miholic of HNS won tightly the third round of the mayoral elections.
In the second round two weeks ago, both Miholic and Sasa Pavlovic of the coalition between the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) and HDZ won 521 votes.
