Jandrokovic was quoted in the statement as having "expressed full support to principles, values and goals" set in the 1997 Founding Act on mutual relations, cooperation and security and also in the 2002 Rome Declaration which led to the establishment of the NATO-Russia Council.
The council's gathering was held on the fringes of an informal meeting of foreign ministers of OSCE (Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe).
Minister Jandrokovic said that the partnership between NATO and Russia was of strategic importance for strengthening Euro-Atlantic security, and said that Croatia saw the NATO-Russia Council as a forum for dialogue on all issues of common interest, reads the statement.
The Corfu gathering was the first ministerial meeting of the NATO-Russia Council after their relations worsened in the wake of the Russian-Georgian war in August 2008.
