Croatia has more and more pigs, goats, sheep and fewer and fewer poultry

ZAGREB, 18 February (Hina) - The number of cattle in Croatia increased by 0.7% in 2020 compared with the previous year, the number of pigs rose by 1.3% and that of sheep and goats by 4.9%, while the number of poultry decreased by 2.9%, according to provisional data from the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS). 

On 1 December 2020, there were 423,000 head of cattle, data on livestock production shows.

This was an increase of 0.7% from 420,000 head of cattle in 2019.

The number of dairy cows decreased by 0.8% to 129,000.

In 2020, there were 1.04 million pigs, 690,000 sheep and 86,000 goats.

Last year, the number of poultry fell to 12.4 million.
