Zmajlovic told reporters a contract with the consultant was expected to be signed in January and an investor found in the second half of 2014. The investment is estimated at HRK 1.5-2 billion.
The consultant will help the Environment and Nature Protection Ministry find investors that will turn Brijuni into an exclusive tourist destination, the minister said. The consultant will also propose concession models, with the final decision on them up to the government.
The consultant will organise a road show for all potential investors together with the Environment and Nature Protection Ministry and the Tourism Ministry.
What is important is that the source of financing is not the state budget but a private investment under terms prescribed by the state, said Zmajlovic.
Four offers were submitted.
