A Macedonian-Croatian business forum was also held, the Croatian Economy Ministry said.
The two ministers agreed that the EUR 200 million trade in 2012 was low and inappropriate.
"Although Macedonia is the tenth investment destination for Croatian business people, investments are merely symbolic because in recent years Croatian companies have invested in Macedonia only EUR 75 million of the EUR 4 billion of all foreign investments," said Vrdoljak.
"We want to maximally intensify the cooperation of the two countries and make Croatian and Macedonian companies investment partners on third markets. Croatia wants to share its experience in the absorption of European funds and invites Macedonian companies to invest in our country," said Vrdoljak.
He said Croatia could gain a bigger influence in the region in partnership with Macedonian companies.
"Our goal in the next five years is to include Croatia among Macedonia's top five trade partners and we will work hard on that. It's necessary to work together and try to conquer third markets too, especially those outside the EU that have high growth," said Saraqini, adding that "Croatia's experience will help Macedonia in the absorption of international funds and the liberalisation of the electricity market."
