Outstanding issues don't affect Croatia-Bosnia relations, officials say

Autor: half
SARAJEVO, Oct 29 (Hina) - Bosnian Presidency Chairman Zeljko Komsic and Presidency member Nebojsa Radmanovic said during talks with Croatian Parliament Speaker Josip Leko in Sarajevo on Tuesday that outstanding issues were not affecting the good relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, the Bosnian Presidency said in a press release.

Komsic and Radmanovic underlined the need to strengthen bilateral relations and expand parliamentary cooperation.

The talks also discussed Bosnia's European integration, with Leko saying that Croatia supported it and that it was willing to share its experience in the European Union accession negotiations.

Leko also met with Bosnian Prime Minister Vjekoslav Bevanda, who said the two countries had launched the solving of many outstanding issues and that the Council of Ministers expected the ratification of an agreement on border crossings to be one of the first.

Bevanda informed Leko that Bosnia was negotiating with the European Commission over the alignment of its Stabilisation and Association Agreement and the interim trade agreement. He said a decline in exports was not good for anyone and that it was in both countries' interest to revive cooperation in the economy as soon as possible.

Leko said the two neighbours, friends and partners should cooperate on every front, and that Croatia was interested in Bosnia's success in strategic goals, such as EU and NATO membership, as well as in its survival as a functional and democratic state.

Leko is heading a Croatian parliamentary delegation on a two-day official visit to Bosnia which ends on Wednesday.
