"We are doing absolutely everything to create a legislative framework in which the State Prosecutor's Office (DORH) can do its job undisturbed, which is to prosecute those who committed crimes on Croatian territory, against Croatia and its citizens. That's what we're doing," Grbin told reporters.
He would not comment on media reports that DORH had launched a preliminary investigation in preparation for constitutional changes expected to lift the statute of limitations on first degree murders and prevent Perkovic's extradition to Germany.
"We won't comment on that in any way. It's a matter within the jurisdiction of DORH which, as the Constitution says, is independent in its work. Let them do their job."
Asked if a two-thirds majority required for the constitutional changes had been secured in parliament, Grbin said, "This procedure is under way."
