ZAGREB, Oct 3
(Hina) - Following Croatian media reports that former
President Stjepan Mesic and the former CEO of the Djuro Djakovic
company, Bartol Jerkovic, were suspected of taking bribes from
executives of the Finnish defence contractor Patria for their roles in
the purchase of armoured vehicles for the Croatian Armed Forces in
2007, the Croatian State Prosecutor's Office (DORH) said on Thursday
it was looking into the case and would not discuss details before the
investigation was completed, citing a confidentiality clause from an
agreement on a joint investigation with prosecutors from Finland and
Austria.
