Two Croatian citizens are among the ship's 11-men crew. The Istra has been anchored in Bejaia for 19 days, without permission to land, with less and less water and food. The other seamen are Serbian and Georgian.
The Croatian Seamen Trade Union said fuel should be provided so that the ship, which is owned by the Euroshipping company from Koper, could sail to Koper in Slovenia.
No official request for repatriation has been made, so no mechanisms to transport the Croatian seamen have been activated, said the union.
