We expect a solution to this issue, which has been given a political dimension it does not deserve, she told reporters as part of the HNS Political Academy in Tuheljske Toplice in northern Croatia.
Pusic reiterated that this issue should not be solved by changing the Constitution but by aligning the law.
The law on judicial cooperation with European Union member countries, which parliament passed on June 28, limits the enforcement of the EAW to crimes committed after 7 August 2002. Reding has cautioned that no time limit was mentioned in Croatia's EU accession treaty, saying she expected Croatia to solve this issue, otherwise it would constitute a breach of the treaty.
Pusic went on to say that the HNS and the ruling coalition would not sweep problems under the rug but deal with them.
She said Croatia's EU accession was not only Croatia's but Europe's success as well in a difficult moment for Europe, which showed that it was possible to make steps forward.
"Post-transition chances and tasks are ahead of us, the issue of the country's development, for which we have the potentials in terms of transport, energy, agriculture and citizens," said Pusic.
Asked if the change in the leadership had resulted in the HNS' higher rating, she said the party had a solution even in the hardest times and that the aim was to raise the rating to the previous seven or eight per cent.
HNS Vice President and Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak said the party wanted to restore optimism to Croatian society so that citizens could live better at the end of the incumbent government's term.
Asked about announcements of another budget revision, he said it was not the result of a loss of optimism and that it would show that the government could be functional with less money.
We must reduce the decline in spending and we already have some positive indicators, which is reason for optimism, said Vrdoljak.
Asked about announcements of new borrowing, he said the most important thing was the price.
We used to borrow expensively because it was sustainable then, but today we are paying a high price. In times of recession and crisis, economies should not deleverage but borrow because there is cheap capital, and deleverage in better times, said Vrdoljak.
Before the press conference, the HNS main committee and presidency held sessions.
The HNS Political Academy brought together about 2,000 party representatives.
