(Hina) - Croatia's lengthy process of drawing closer
to the European Union will be finalised with the country's entry into
the bloc on 1 July, a goal it has aspired to achieve since its
independence. The international recognition of Croatia on 15 January
1992, when it was also recognised by member countries of the European
Community paved the way for the development of relations between
Croatia and the EU.
