Upon accession, Croatia will apply the Union's common trade policy as well as provisions from free trade agreements which the EU has with individual or groups of countries, said Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic.
At today's session, the government amended a regulation raising the excise on gas oil from HRK 2,354 to 2,450 per 1,000 litres. Finance Minister Slavko Linic said this was due to alignment with EU regulations.
He went on to say that a group of bidders led by the KPMG company had been chosen as advisor for the privatisation of the state-owned Croatia Osiguranje insurance company. He announced that the government would soon discuss the sale of the company's stock.
Also today, the government authorised the Finance Ministry to waive the right to turn its claim of HRK 515.9 million from the 3. Maj shipyard into shareholding in Rijeka-based dock.
