Deputy German Ambassador Valentin Gescher congratulated Croatia on the accession, saying it paved the way for further intensifying Croatian-German economic relations.
Although economic cooperation is significant, with Germany being Croatia's second trade partner and third in investments, further development is possible, he said, adding that competitiveness was most important as it created future prospects.

Croatia's relations with the German state of Hesse have significant potential and can have an important part in the development of Croatian-German relations, said Gescher.
